There's nothing more satisfying than walking into your kitchen, taking a few things out of the cupboard and/or fridge, mixing them together then slathering them all over your face. I mean, you can't get beauty products more natural than that, can you?!
This is exactly what Freya's Nourishment is all about - natural beauty inside and out.
Social media is overflowing with the most gorgeously coloured matcha creations - matcha smoothies, matcha chia puddings, matcha bread, matcha ice-cream, matcha lattes...the list goes on and I've added a few of my own. It's such a wonderful product to create with!
But did you know it's also good for your skin?
Well it makes sense doesn't it - the benefits of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals are going to have an effect on your skin when taken internally - so why not apply them directly to your skin!
We all know caffeine is great for tightening the skin (if you don't then have a look at our Coffee Coconut scrub because you are missing out!) Chlorophyll (the green stuff) has been known for decades to help assist in healing wounds and improving the length of healing time. Chlorophyll also is said to help promote cleansing by preventing absorption of toxic metals. Cucumber is anti-inflammatory, tones the skin (it's used in so many beauty products for this very reason) and reduces dark circles. Mint is also widely used in beauty products as it is also an anti-inflammatory and it is known to help cure all sorts of skin conditions ranging from soothing dry skin, acne and even helping with mosquito bites. So, plant some straight away! And of course, the coconut oil is an excellent moisturiser.
This mask leaves your skin feeling wonderfully moisturised and fresh....
and no, you won't end up looking like Kermit!
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp cucumber grated - leave the skin on and best to use a fine grater or microplane
1 tsp matcha powder
1 tsp softened coconut oil
1/2 tsp chopped fresh mint
METHOD
Mix all ingredients together until combined then smooth over clean face
I like to leave this on for about 20 minutes, the easiest way to remove it is in the shower, otherwise use a soft washcloth to remove
Enjoy!
